Who manages my staircasing application?
Platform, from the moment you submit it. Stairpay is where you put the application together and check it over; the decisions are not ours to make. Your Platform staircasing team approves the extra share and takes it through to completion. What your account gives you meanwhile is their process laid out and their recommended panels in one place, so nothing has to be chased twice.
Do I still contact Platform directly for repairs?
Yes. Platform is still your landlord and still handles repairs. Stairpay does not sit between you and them: report a repair the way you always have, and use your account here for questions about what you own, what you pay and what you could do next.
Is Stairpay free for me?
Yes, and it stays free. The cost is met by Platform rather than by you, so that every one of their shared owners has what they need to make decisions about their home and their future with confidence. Staircasing itself is separate: a valuation, legal fees and any lender charges are real costs, and none of them come to Stairpay.
Can I use Stairpay if I'm not planning to buy more yet?
Yes. Buying more is one thing Stairpay helps with, not the reason to have an account. You can track your home's value, see what you are paying and try out scenarios whenever you want to, without committing to anything. Sooner is better than later.
Is Stairpay an official Platform service?
Yes. Stairpay works in partnership with Platform, who supply the information behind your account. That is why your own figures are already there when you sign in, instead of being something you have to go and find.
What if my address isn't recognised?
First, check you have selected the right landlord. Then check whether you already have an account and are trying to create a second one — logging in will tell you. If neither is it, email helpdesk@stairpay.com and we will look into it for you.
